SATURDAY 17thMay 2008 1pm to 5pm SUNDAY 18thMay 2008 10am to 5pm
An experiential weekend WORKSHOP exploring SOUND, COLOUR, ART and BODY Awareness
With TAMARA WATTERS JUDY HEMMONS & CAROLINE BARNES
We exist within a vibrational field of energy, which like the sea, ebbs and flows within and around us. As resonant beings, we are deeply affected by all that we interact with on a daily basis. Often the sites and sounds that surround us feel discordant, making us feel out of balance and can cause us to disconnect with our sense of self.
In a world where we travel fast and are impacted by input from multi media images, this weekend offers us an opportunity to stop, take stock and process some of the influences we are subjected to in our daily lives.
When we allow ourselves to stop, we can arrive in a place of stillness. From stillness, we can find our truth.
Underpinning out psychotherapeutic background, we will be drawing on our training in Art Therapy, Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Sound Therapy, working with art, sound and touch.
Bathing our body in sound and allowing ourselves to be moved by the vibrations, we can access deep parts of ourselves, including our creative and express self. Through playing with colour a natural partner to sound, we can explore this in a visual way with art work, working with body awareness; we can ground these experiences within the body.
We plan to use the harmonics of sound and colour to enhance our capacity to BE with ourselves, to let our own sense of connection and rhythm find expression.
The extra dimension to this weekend is to explore how are body is moved by colour and sound, by increasing our sensitivity through touch.
This workshop offers the opportunity to explore how we resonate with the world around us and how we bring thought into being.
The workshop will include · Linking with the ELEMENTS · BREATH WORK · CHANTING · SOUND BATH with Himalayan and Crystal bowls · PLAYING with PAINTS, COLOURS and other materials. · Becoming aware of the tidal rhythms within and around us · Enhancing sensitivity through touch
